Living the Moments

“We need much less than we think we need.” ~ Maya Angelou

How are you living your moments?

small moments

For most of us, they pass by at dizzying rates of speed. We notice the big ones but all the little ones go by with little or no notice. We become frustrated when the big moments don’t come often enough. We wait and wait. Our frustration and dissatisfaction with life slowly builds. It happens slowly, over many years. Then one day we wake up angry and bitter, not remembering how it all started.

In the meantime, the small moments come to us every second of every day.  They never stop. You will never have to wait for these moments. So why do you ignore them? Why do you pretend they don’t exist? Because they are small? Because they won’t get bring fame, recognition, or glory?

Is glory the thing your soul desires? Or is it simply the mistaken path we take in order to find joy and contentment? Deep in our hearts we know that simply living for the big moments won’t give us the joy and contentment our souls yearn for. But we cannot help ourselves.

Don’t wait for the big moments to start living. Live the small moments. Start now.

How?

Trust that these small moments are all that you need.

Trust that they are sufficient for a rich, full, and happy life.
